Engelsaugen, or “Angel Eyes,” are delicate German butter cookies with a little jewel of fruity jam in the center. Tender, lightly sweet, and especially pretty on a Christmas cookie plate, they’re a classic holiday favorite.

Kiara’s version is filled with red currant jam, giving the buttery cookie a bright, slightly tart contrast. These are also part of Kiara’s Horse Fund.
